Magnolia’s aren’t they beautiful.

My neighbour has two large trees and I always admire them when they flower.

Big pink buds open to large petaled white flowers, while having no fragrance their delicate beauty more than makes up for that.

Many thanks to my neighbour who let me take a few flowers to photograph.

  1. You brightened my day, Karen. Sadly possums, birds and some other creature(s) have all but destroyed our magnolia flowers at the bud stage – for the second year in a row. (In fact, our anti possum strategy seems to have worked, so it is something else, and the infra red camera hasn’t picked it up!)

      1. We’ve certainly seen noisy miners having a peck at the buds, but we’re also thinking there may be grubs involved. Neighbours have a similar problem, but a tree in the nature strip one block away is blooming in all its glory! 😦
